Marnie J. Downey, M.Sc., CCPE, CK, President

Marnie Downey has earned a solid reputation as an expert in the field of Occupational Biomechanics and Ergonomics.

Marnie has over 15 years of ergonomics consulting and design experience. During this time she has solved diverse ergonomic challenges for hundreds of companies in a variety of industries in Canada, the United States and Mexico with her pro-active approach to problem solving.

Her energetic personality provides a motivational training atmosphere for management and employees. She has presented at the American Industrial Hygiene Association in Washington, D.C., the Canadian Association of Ergonomists, the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering, the Ontario Kinesiology Association Annual Conference, the Industrial Accident Prevention Association National Health & Safety Conference, the Ontario Library Association, several Chamber of Commerce events and the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology.

Alexandra J. Stinson, Hons. B.Sc., CK, Manager

Alexandra has over 10 years of ergonomic experience specializing in manufacturing and production processes. Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Laurentian University, where she focused on Occupational Ergonomics in the mining industry.

Alexandra has conducted ergonomic research in a variety of industries throughout North America, including automotive manufacturing, pharmaceutical, warehousing, laboratories, foundries, school boards and health care. She has developed internal Ergonomic and MSD Prevention Programs and worked with JHSC/ERGO Committees to create an ergonomic culture. Using sound return to work principles and conducting ergonomic suitability assessments, Alexandra accelerates the return to work of injured employees. Alexandra is an expert in conducting Ergonomic Risk Assessments and Physical Demands Analyses, workstation re-design, developing corporate fitness, stretching and wellness programs and developing and conducting Post Offer Pre-Employment Testing Programs.

Jennifer McGillis, M.Sc., CK, Ergonomic Specialist

Jennifer is a Certified Kinesiologist with a Masters of Science in Kinesiology, specializing in biomechanics. Jennifer has experience performing Physical Demand Assessments, Ergonomic Assessments, developing and implementing Ergonomic Training Programs and assisting with the return to work of injured employees. She has assessed and redesigned a variety of workstation set ups, including standard computer workstations, multi-screen computer workstations, as well as libraries, bicycle repair and mailing stations. She has completed hands-on projects in the areas of Methods Time Management, Postural Occurrence Sampling and Occupational Safety Engineering, which included a 4-month Safety Audit of an industrial company.

Jennifer has developed effective teaching techniques as a Professor of Lifestyle Management at Georgian College. As a result, she is a dynamic speaker who specializes in providing informative and interactive Ergonomic Training Sessions. Jennifer is currently working towards her certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.

Sarah Snable, B.Sc. (Kin), CK, AE, Ergonomic Specialist

Sarah Snable is an experienced Certified Kinesiologist with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo. Sarah recently achieved her designation as Associate Ergonomist (AE) with the Association of Canadian Ergonomists and is currently pursuing her certification as a Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomist (CCPE).

Sarah has assessed and implemented ergonomic strategies to reduce injuries and improve workplace design in patient care, offices, laboratories, material handling, housekeeping, libraries and food services. Sarah was responsible for coordinating a Musculoskeletal Disorder Prevention Program in a large unionized health care organization, which included designing and presenting interactive education sessions tailored specifically to each department within the hospitals. At Toyota Motor Company, Sarah conducted Physical Demands Analyses in various shops using an online database system, coordinated an ergonomic improvement project for the Paint shop and supported ergonomic concern investigations.

Sarah is currently pursuing her certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.

Pam Grills, M.Sc., CCPE, Ottawa Associate Ergonomist

Pam Grills is a Canadian Certified Ergonomist with over 14 years experience making industrial and office workplaces healthier and more productive. Pam Grills holds a Masters degree in Ergonomics from the University of Waterloo.

Pam has been involved in the design and redesign of many types of workstations, returning injured workers to safe productive work, and delivering ergonomics training. Recently, Pam made the Supreme Court Judges sit up and take notice of ergonomics by making their courtroom ergonomically correct. Pam developed and delivered customized safe lifting training for Canada Post Corporation, developed and implemented customized ergonomics programs for NSERC/SSHRC, Nortel, and Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and lead Health Canada’s National Ergonomics Advisory Group in developing and internal ergonomics program, office ergonomics education package, ergonomic train-the-trainer, and office ergonomic report guidelines.

Richard McFadden, MBA, CHRP, CRSP, Health & Safety Specialist

Richard is an experienced Human Resources Professional with over 15 years consulting experience in the public and private sector including manufacturing, health care, and the service industry.

He has extensive Human Resources, Safety and Labour Relations experience in unionized settings. He is skilled in negotiating cooperative solutions.

Richard has extensive knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the Regulations. He successfully assists clients pass the WSIB Workwell Audit, with a 100% success rate.

Larry Mylrea, C.E.T., Health & Safety Specialist

Larry been extensively involved with health, safety and environmental work for over 25 years. He achieved over 9,000,000 hours with zero lost time injuries, as the Health & Safety Manager at a facility with approximately 700 employees. This has never been achieved before.

Larry has been featured on the cover of “Canadian Occupational Safety” magazine for his dynamic and successful approach to Health & Safety. He is a highly requested motivational speaker in the field of Health & Safety throughout Canada and the USA.
